Almost Ready...

Well, the site is nearing completion and almost ready to go live.  I'm currently working on the first 3D model to be posted: one of the teacups.  I'm doing this first simply because it's one of the easiest models I could find in the park.  I'll try to post the one 3D model along with multiple textures so you can create the full set from the ride.  This will be the example model to show everyone how the site works.

Official Website

I found a free web host which looks like it will work for what I need.  Nothing on there yet, but I'm mainly testing out all the features right now.  Here's the link:  http://thevdp.webs.com/

And so it begins...

Well, here I am, beginning the Virtual Disneyland Project (VDP).  Don't know how well it'll catch on, but I know there are people out there already creating models of sections of the park, making mods to look like Disneyland, etc., so I figured I'd try to gather all the people who want to make and explore a virtual Disneyland.

I'd like it to be a community where everyone shares and expands upon each other's models, all working to create one big awesome virtual Disneyland.  In the beginning it will probably only be the sharing of models (.obj's) and their UV maps and stuff, but I'd like to make a program, or game rather, that would let you explore and interact with things within it like a FPS.  Don't know if we'll ever get that far, but at least we'll be able to view the park in Blender or something.  I'm also working on the site right now where everyone can share and download objects and I'm trying to incorporate a forum.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.  As of writing this no one even knows about my Virtual Disneyland Project.  I've seen people working on their own creations though so I think people will be interested.  And I heard that Google Earth almost has the same thing for Disneyland Paris, but it seems to be only viewable within Google Earth.  Anyway, just wanted to make a community for this so we could all work together on one big project.  I also would like to do one for Universal Studios Hollywood and California Adventure, but I think I'll just focus on Disneyland for now.

Anyway, without further ado... let the Virtual Disneyland Project begin!
